Company introduction The German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai (GCC Shanghai) is the representative organization for German companies in Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Shandong, Henan and Hubei. As part of the world-wide German Chamber network, the mission of the GCC Shanghai is to promote economic ties between the Federal Republic of Germany and the People’s Republic of China with a special focus on its geographical area. With more than 1500 member companies, the GCC Shanghai provides a forum for its members and advocates member interests with relevant organizations. The GCC Shanghai, together with the Delegation of German Industry & Commerce and the German Industry & Commerce are the overall platform for Sino-German trade and industry promotion in East China.
Internship description To strengthen our team, we are looking for a
Marketing & Communications Intern
we offer you the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated, dynamic team in an international environment with plenty of room for your own ideas and creativity. In this role, you will support the German Chamber’s communications team in all marketing and social media activities.
Tasks will consist of, but are not limited to:
Social Media: Creating templates, designing and pushing daily WeChat posts about the Chamber’s events, news and policy updates
Content pitching for the Chamber’s social media channels (WeChat, LinkedIn) and community management
Designing and updating content for the Chamber’s newsletter
Statistical analysis of social media campaigns
Event Management: supporting the Chamber’s annual International Communications and Marketing Forum – maXcomm 2021
Marketing: Carrying out other general communications and marketing tasks that may arise, such as supporting the production of marketing collaterals or corporate videos
Publications: Supporting the production of our China-wide business magazine “GCTicker”
As part of the Chamber team, you are also expected to attend important Chamber events, including our monthly Chamber Meetings and other major events as well as occasionally provide general research, statistical and analytical work.
Candidates Local Chinese
Mandatory: Student at a Chinese University. Non-Chinese students need an X-Visa with the permission of the university to carry out an “off campus internship”
Good command of English
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Professional experience in the field of communications and (Chinese) social media preferred
Cultural sensitivity and eagerness to work in an international environment
Knowledge of Graphic design, photography, video tools or InDesign and XIUMI a plus
